CLOCK OF THE MONTH
I Spend Time Every Month Trying To Come Up With A Different Design Or Style For Something To Build. I Keep All Of My Drawings On Hand And Take A Clock And Make A Different Style Base Or Different Shape For The Clockworks To Fit Into. I Took A Pocket Watch Style And Made A Small One Then Made A Much Larger One. I Have Made Five Different Four - Posted Mantel Clocks With A Pendulum With Each One. I Sold Them To Our Fire Company For A Drawing They Had At There Spring And Fall Gun Raffles. They Were A Big Hit. Tickets Were Sold Seperatly On Just The Clock. We Sold Quite A Few Tickets. Each Time I Made One It Was Different. I Took A Picture Of Each One That I Made.

COMPONENTS OF MY CLOCKS
Buying My Wood Locally I Really Check It Out For Warpage And Knots Along With Cracks. The Person Who I Get It From Always Has A Good Selection Of Boards. He Has His Own Drier And A Large Planner And Jointer Which He Planes The Top And Bottom And Both Side Edges. There Is Getting To Be A Lot Of Dealers In The Lumber Business Now And As Long As He Works With Me I Will Comtinue Buying From Him. I Get Some Of My Boards 1-1/8" Thicknesses for Making Weather Stations And Clock Pieces. I Take My Time Doing All That Needs Doing To Each Board So, When Finished It Looks Great. All Of My Small Desktop Size Design Clocks And Weather Stations I Get All My Clockworks And Gauges From Klockit In Lake Geneva, WI. I Have Had Very Little Problems With Their Parts And Components. If I Do Have Problems They Are Great On Replacing The Damaged Piece. As Far As Finishes I Use either Valspar Polyurethene or Deft. I Like Both Of Them. They Both Make The Clock Look Like It Has Fifty Coats On It. Just Great, A Little Finishing Touches Done After It Dries And Your Done. Ready For The Perfect Picture. |
